Correspondence, 1961-1972
About a member of the Sønneland family known as Nils Trosner
(1685-c.1729), whose diary (1711-1714) is an important document
in Danish naval history. An abbreviated version (217 pages) was
edited by Roar Tank and published by Gylendal, 1923. Sønneland
had a microfilm made of the original in the Riksarkivet, and a
printout of selected pages to show examples of of the drawings
included with the text. Both film and printout are included here.
Some of the correspondence deals with having these made, and
consideration of publishing a new, complete edition.
Article by Ansgar Ellingsen published in Ætt og Heim (1965), with a
translation with the title "A Little About Nils Trosneer also called
Tordenkiold's matros."
Two plaques of recognition presented to Amelia Sønneland from
George Washington University, 1982)
