Stephenson-Hanson family contract, 1895
Stephenson-Hanson Family Contracts drawn up in 1895 between Christopher and Karen Stephenson of Wesby, Wisconsin, and their daughter Anna Marie and husband, Bernt Hanson. A Norwegian pension practice continued on American soil.
Contract agreed upon to provide parents $845 for the farm, and agreed to support them for the rest of their lives. Conditions clearly spelled out such as yearly supply of firewood, coffee, and spending money. -

Deb Nelson Gourley papers, 1863-2005
Raised on the family 150-year-old Norwegian ancestral farm in Amherst, Near Canton, in southeastern Minnesota. Author of "Astri, My Astri: Norwegian Heritage Stories." Inspiration for Deb's stories are her Norwegian ancestors, who began emigrating as early as 1845 from various areas of Norway, including Hallingdal, Numedal, Telemark, Voss, Sognefjord, Valdres, and Selbu near Trondheim.
Includes tabloid sized colored pictures that illustrate her research on the 1862 Belmont (Jackson County, MN) Massacre [continuation of published work on the Hjørnevik family]; family pedigree chart; photocopies of letter (dated Dec. 18, 1863) by Ole Estenson Lonashaug describing the Belmot Massacre. -
Carl Gustav Finstrom papers, 2002-2003
Finstrom worked as a research chemist before joining the US Army where he served for over thirty years, seventeen years in Europe and four years in Asia. Active member of the Society of Scandinavian Historians, the Swedish military history society called "Svenskt Miltärhistoriskt Bibliotek, the Swedish aviation history organization called "Svensk Flyghistorisk Förening,' the Eight Air Force Association, and the US-Japan Manjiro Society. He has taught courses on eight different subjects, to include "Scandinavia in the Second World War," "The Military Installations in the Hampton Roads," and "The Role of the Military Attaché in International Relations.

Lærdal-Borgund emigration list (with a short biographical sketch). Research completed by Forrest Brown in 1984 for Alfred Espe, Lærdal, Norway. Includes over 116 individuals/families that settled in Goodhue County, Minnesota by 1880. A short biographical sketch. -

Thoresen, former president of Great Western Steel Corp., owned the "Wm. Thoresen Co," of Chicago (419-421 W. North Avenue) manufacturer of architectural sheet metal ornaments. Collection contains many letters, mostly written from Stavanger, Norway (1880-1900).- Miscellaneous documents. 1904-1975

S. Gesley family account book, 1862-1897
S. Gesley family of Beloit, Wisconsin account book, 1862-1897. Apparently he was a farmer and business owner. Mrs. Gresley kept the records from 1875-1897. They owned land in Rock as well. No other information is known about them, but mentions (George and Sabel).
Includes entries such as: money spent in saloon; paying bounty; hired girl; monthly grocery bill; sale of hogs, corn, cattle, wood, rye, wheat, horses, hides, calves, and butter and eggs.
