He emigrated in 1850 with his family, spending three years near Madison, Wis., then to Houston co., Minn.; In 1869 Knute moved to Lac qui Parle con., Minn., and in 1871 he was among the first settlers in Polk co., in Hubbard and Vineland townships. His memoir ends at that time, and his later career is briefly summarized. He died in Dan Diego, CA.
