Assorted papers, membership lists, trade bulletins, and clippings of a corporation organized in New York City chiefly for the purpose of promoting business interests between Norway and the United States.
Includes clippings on New York banks, copy of Certificate of Incorporation and By-Laws (found in August Reymert Papers); membership lists for 1958, 1965-66, 1967-68, 1974-75, 1978-79. Trade bulletins for Oct. 1969 and Jan. 1998. The organization publishes "Norwegian American Commerce," a quarterly; financial records (1974-1993) of Women's Auxiliary, Upper Midwest Chapter. -
Thor Ohme autobiography, 1975
"From the Cradle to the Grave, a Few Notes from Traveling through Life " by Thor Ohme. Born in Oma, Hardanger, Norway, Ohme emigrated in 1909. The account covers travels, work, attendance at Augsburg College (1911-1912), service as an airplane mechanic in World War I, employment by the Minneapolis Post Office (1921-1956), and activity in Norwegian-American affairs. -
John Y. Olesen pamphlet, 1952
History of Norway and the Norsemen, a 47-page booklet published by Olesen, a civil engineer.
"History of Norway and the Norsemen," published at Storm Lake, Iowa. Mr. Olesen, states in the preface that it was his purpose "…to write a short and inexpensive history of Norway…and to show some events under each king, in addition to the information about the Ancient Norsemen that appeared in the Leif Erikson booklet." -

Biographical sketches of a Norwegian-American clergyman and educator who served as a teacher and administrator at Pacific Lutheran College from 1925 until his retirement in 1961. The sketches were written by his wife, Emma Kvindlog Ramstad.
Includes: "Anders" and "Memories that Cast a Glow Over Retirement" written by Anders Ramstad's wife, Emma Kvindlog Ramstad. -

Anders N. Teslow diary, 1866-1908
An Account of the Life of Anders N. Teslow, A Diary, a translation of the diary of a Norwegian-born merchant and farmer, who came with his wife and family to Winneshiek County, Iowa, in 1862. In 1865 he moved to a farm in Freeborn County, Minnesota, where he lived the rest of his life. The diary begins with reminiscences of his life in Norway, his marriage, and the journey to America, and continues with the record of his experiences in Minnesota. Account translated by Dr. Gunnar Malmin, and edited by Anders Teslow's daughter and grandson, Valborg Teslow Fynboe (1976) The account was translated by Gunnar Malmin, and edited by Valborg Teslow Fyneboe and Carl Fyneboe. -

Copy of an article describing Congressman Volstead's interest in farmers' cooperatives and the 1922 Capper-Volstead Act and a collection of clippings (1902-1947).
"Andrew J. Volstead Made it All Possible," an unsigned essay regarding the Capper-Volstead Act, 1922. Includes clippings concerning the Norwegian-American politician who was the author of the legislation that enforced the anti-liquor 18th Amendment, 1919.
