"De harde aar i Vesten; Arne Alfarnes beretter fra sin tid i U.S.A" (47 pages), the recollections of an emigrant who came to the United States in 1909. After a few years of wandering in the West, he returned to his home in Norway. The material was originally published in 12 numbers of Andalsnes Avis, July 21-August 31, 1976. Clippings of the original articles are included.

Choosing a Life-Work, an account of how the author became interested in the YMCA, an organization he served from 1919 to 1949, after having served as a member of the 77th Division of the A.E.F. during World War I. He is the son of the well-known editor of the "Minneapolis Tidende," Carl G. O. Hansen.
Memoirs, letters, and clippings concerning the Norwegian community in the Northwest United States. Born in 1907 in Ålesund, Norway, she was active in community organizations in Seattle, Washington until her death in 1993. Earlier in her life she worked as a telegraph operator for the Canadian Pacific Railway Company and then for the U.S. Air Force in Alaska.
