Biography/History: Vigleik Engebret Boe was born March 30, 1872, in Odda, Hardanger, Norway to Enegebret Engebretsson and Kristie (Skare) Boe. He immigrated in 1892 and settled in Nerstrand, Minnesota where he lived with his Aunt Mrs. Valgjer Olson. During this time, he became a member of the Vang Congregation. He married Maria (Haugen) Boe on December 23, 1899.
Boe attended St. Olaf College Academy (1895-1899) and the United Church Seminary (1900-1903). He served as a Lutheran minister in Finley for 30 years. Boe was the editor of "Luthersk Menighedsblad," (1910-12), and associate editor, "Concordia" (songbook, 1915).

The Boe papers include clippings, correspondence, family history materials, Finley Lutheran church records, and St. Olaf and United Church school records.
