Sorlandet ship papers and album, 1932-1933
Papers and album about the training ship "Slandet" which made an expedition to Chicago in 1933 as a feature of the "Century of Progress" exposition. Magnus Andersen had brought the Viking ship across the Atlantic to the Chicago Exposition in 1893.
Includes:- Leatherbound Album containing photographs regarding "Sørlandet" and the Norwegian Merchant Fleet (1933).
- Clippings, programs, and a copy of "The Viking March" (1933); "70 Years in Retrospect: On My Work on Sea and Land" by Magnus Andersen (1932).

Workers Lyceum (Chicago) pamphlet, 1928
Anniversary booklet giving the history of a worker's organization in Chicago, earlier known as Branch number 1, Karl Marx, associated with the American Socialist Party. Johan Andreas Altenburg Ibsen papers, 1850, 1967
Copy of a letter from the brother of Henrik Ibsen to his father, dated 28 May 1850, at Oconomowoc, Wisconsin. He describes conditions in Wisconsin, includein items about his work as a clerk in a store, wages, expenses, outlook for farmers, Indians, and the great interest in the Gold Rush to California. He himself may have died while crossing the desert on his way to find gold in California. -
Nikolai Alexander Ibsen clippings, 1926-1984
After failing in business in Norway, Nikolai Ibsen, brother of Henrik Ibsen, came to the United States, finally living near Estherville where he owned 40 acres of land. -
Kjorstad-Revling family papers, 1951-1992
Papers concerning the Kjstad-Revling family in America and Norway, consisting of correspondence, articles, and pictures, compiled chiefly by Asbjn Hagen, Olso, and Esther Kjstad, Evanston, Illinois. Most of the materials are notes and correspondence of Beulah Folkedahl in preparation for her "Kjstad clan in America and in Norway since 1800," Blanchardville, Wisconsin, 1951, revised 1959, a copy of which is included here. A supplement to this family history was added in 1992.

Ludwig Edward Olson papers, 1872-1873
Two biographical sketches in bound typescript form and illustrated with family photographs.
Includes:
"Grandpa Made Knives" by Ludwig E. Olson and Rolf H. Erickson (1972); the saga of Knut Langedal Olson (1845-1933), a Norwegian immigrant, farmer, and blacksmith, who emigrated to the Manitowoc area in Wisconsin I 1867; The authors are a grandson and great-grandson of Knut L. Olson. "Grandpa Went to War" by Ludwig E. Olson (1973); the life story of Samuel C. Onson (1840-1903), a Norwegian-born soldier in the American Civil War; Samuel Onson emigrated to America in 1858 and served in Company B of the 21st Wisconsin Volunteer Infantry; written by a grandson of Onson. -
Camp Nidaros papers, 1923-2016
Papers of Camp Nidaros, a group of summer cottages owned chiefly by pastors at Ottertail Lake, Ottertail County, Minnesota. The original site was purchased in 1909; later it was expanded, and together with other similar sites, Camps Hutton, Lingerlong, and Wenonah Beach, organized the Lutheran Camp Service Association at Camp Nidaros. The Association wrote a constitution to cover Sunday church services.

Hulteng's history written for the 20th Anniversary in 1929, done by Judith Rorstad Anderson for the 50th Anniversary in 1959; "An Historic Update" prepared by Bernice Soelberg Hobart for the 70th Anniversary in 1979; a brief 90th Anniversary update by Paul Eid done in 1999.

Thingvalla Line papers, 1884-1993
Booklet describing the operations of a direct shipping line from Copenhagen to New York, whose stated purpose was to assure passengers sailing from and to Scandinavia an inexpensive, convenient, and comfortable journey across the Atlantic Ocean. NB: Odd Lovoll ("The Promise of America," 1984, p. 22) says, "the Danish Thingvall linein 1880 established the first direct passenger route by steamship between Scandinavia and the U.S. Many Norwegians emigrants booked passage on this line." Includes lists of passengers on July and August sailings, lists of banks where tickets could be purchased, and quotations from Norwegian newspapers, September and December, 1882.

Kolstad family pamphlet, 1978
Kolstad Jewelers, 1853-1979, an illustrated booklet issued as a memento of the 125th anniversary of the oldest retail store in Texas. Members of the Kolstad family have operated this business for five generations and have been community leaders in Palestine, Texas.
Includes photo reproductions that date to early 1880s. -
