Andreas H. Lindelie reminiscences, 1935-1936
Reprints and clippings of a series of 24 articles, which appeared in "Decorah-Posten," (Jan. 11 - June 21, 1935) titled "Nogle erindringer og betragtninger," by a Norwegian-American editor of "Normanden" (Grand Forks), who was a plantation owner in Cuba and Honduras and a proprietor of a travel bureau in Florida. Topics discussed include Enforcement League, politics and temperance and such personages as L.J. Anderson (Baptist minister), Knute Arnegaard, Edward Brekhus, Alexander Bull, F. Enger, J.E. Engstad, Hans A. Foss, M. Falk Gjertsen, John G. Halland, Kristofer Janson, M.N. Johnson, Simon Johnson, Knute Nelson, Charles Pollock, Jakob Skøuen, H.H. Strøm, Peer Strømme, A. M. Henrik V. Zernikow Loss papers, 1892-1925
Papers of a Norwegian-born Philadelphia consulting engineer and inventor of hydraulic machines, including an all-steel wheel to be used on railway cars. The papers consist of James Christie letter (Aug. 31, 1906) regarding screws, a Gardner C. Anthony pamphlet about punching machines, a notebook of drawings on the tire mill, and two articles on mechanical engineering (1892-1904).

Minutes of the board of publication, financial reports, and correspondence of the Norwegian Synod's publishing house in Decorah, Iowa, with a branch office in Minneapolis. Thomas Nilsson was the president of the board and L.S. Dale, business manager.

Maanedstidende volume, undated
An organ of the Norwegian Evangelical Lutheran Church of America, the volume contains all the numbers except (vol. 2, No. 6-7; vol. No. 3; and pgs. 23-4 of vol. 12) and , of "Maanedstidende" from the first issue March, 1851, to the including March 1853. Edited by A.C. Preus, H.A. Stub, and C.L. Clausen, pastors in the church, the journal was printed in K. Langeland's print ship, first at Racine, Wisc., and later at Janesville, Wisc. In April, 1852, Den skandinaviske presseforening, Immansville, Wisc., became the publishers.

Hans (Boe) Madson papers, 1847-1931
Emigration papers, tax receipts, and a certificate of naturalization of a Norwegian-born farmer of Manitowoc County, Wisconsin. A warranty deed to Halvor Rasmussen, and general tax receipts of Albert Halvorson, Nels Madson, H. Halverson, M.R. Madson (Martin Rasmus Madson, son of Hans). Hans emigrated from Gjerpen in 1847.

Gunnar J. Malmin papers, undated
Letters, clippings, and articles by a professor of music at Pacific Lutheran University, Parkland, Washington. "Source Material Relating to the Emigration of 1825" was published in the "American Scandinavian Review," 13 (June, 1925). "The Society of Friends in Norway and Their Relations to the Early Norwegian Emigration to America," "Norwegian Music in America," and "Norwegian Archives" are unpublished manuscripts. The "Decorah-Posten" clippings, "Norsk Landnam i U.S.," are articles by Malmin. The file includes "Songs and Hymns for Children's Voices," 36 pages, 1928, and "Songs and Anthems for Children's Voices," by Dorothy and Gunnar Malmin, 51 pages, 1930. Note: For another set of the series "Norsk Landnam i U.S." see Norwegians in the U.S. Scrapbooks, I-II. P 697.

In a letter of March 11, 1989 Garber says "the melody was published in a column by G. J. Malmin in a newspaper in South Dakota along with" an article describing how his father heard it in the Haugesund harbor. The origin is unknown, although Garber doubts it is Norwegian.

Papers of a Norwegian-born Lutheran clergyman (pastor at New Richland, MN, 1872-1914): 1876-77 correspondence, receipts for money given to St. Olaf's School, signed by B.J. Muus; a biography of Mrs. Mellby by Carl A. Mellby, a son; the letters are by H. A. Preus (Sept. 29, 1872), U. V. Koren (July 31, 1903), Thina M Bjorn to Clara Schmidt (March 20, 1898), later Mrs. Carl A. Mellby.
