"Once a Hobo...The Autobiography of Monte Holm," by Monte Holm and Dennis L. Clay, 1999. Chronicles of a 13-year-old boy from Clarkston, Washington, forced from his home and became a hobo.

Sigurd Henry Holstad volume, 1941
A volume consisting of letters of tribute addressed to Mr. Holstad on his retirement as Executive Secretary of the Lutheran Welfare Society. Mr. Holstad, a Norwegian-born businessman in Minneapolis, was active in church, community and Norwegian-American affairs. -
Benjamin M. Holt biography, 1974
An autobiographical account, covering 90 years, published in the "Concordia Historical Institute Quarterly," Spring 1974. Holt was born in Barnesville, Minnesota, but has lived much of his life in Fargo, North Dakota. He has been an active Lutheran layman, and from 1962 to 1970 he was the Archivist for the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod, North Dakota District. -
Aksel H. Holter papers, circa 1925
The Influence of Norway in Promoting Skiing in America and "Norwegian National Sports and Their Influence in the U.S. and Canada: Written for the Norse American Centennial Celebration 1925 by A. H. Holter." Holter was a Norwegian-born merchant from Ashland, Wisconsin, and an organizer and officer of the National Ski Association of America.
Includes "The Influence of Norway in Promoting Skiing in America." Holter's article "Norwegian National Sports and Their Influence in the U.S. and Canada" covers skiing, skating, sailing, swimming, tennis, and football.

Seraf B. Holter pamphlet, 1968-1970
A pamphlet concerning the emigration of Seraf Holter's grandparents Christoffer Olson Holter (1827-1866) and Anna Holter (1827-1922) from Nannestad, Norway, in 1862 and their first years in America. They came on "Nordlyset" to Quebec, and went on to Koshkonong, Wisconsin; later to Fillmore County, Minnesota, and finally to Kandiyohi County, Minnesota. The pamphlet included information about Nannestad and Rundalen, Voss. Two sons became Lutheran clergymen and editors: C. C. Holter (Seraf Holter's father) and K. C. Holter, who founded the K. C. Holter Publishing Company in Minneapolis. -
Sjur J. Hommedahl scrapbooks, 1935-1939
Sjur (Severt) S. Hommedahl, Cannon Falls, Minnesota, scrapbooks (1935-1939). General interest clippings which include obituaries, postcards, greetings, and local historical items. S.S. Homedahl, was the son of Torbjorn S. Hommedahl who emmigrated from Voss in 1850 and settled in Leon Township, Goodhue County.- Scrapbook 1: clipping "Honor Memory of Pioneer Pastor. Founder of Vasa Church, born 100 years ago. [Dr. Eric Norelius]"; multiple clippings, "The Sioux Massacre" [Native American/Indian uprising] by O.O. Enestvedt; clipping "Old Timer Thinks about those Good Old Days of Yore [S. Hommedahl]" recounts youth and Red Wing…"I have seen this city only a mud hole. I have seen many farmers getting stuck with their loads in sloughs and creeks for want of bridges. They then had to carry grain sacks over their shoulder to town. Instead of using the slow walking oxen, my father, many times, preferred to walk to Red Wing and carry on his shoulder whatever he needed for the family. When he used oxen it took two days. One flour on his shoulder from Red Wing to our home which then was 24 miles from the city…I remember I went with my father to the Holden Church (B.J. Muus, pastor). Anna Hong papers, 1978
Achievements of Anna Hong (Rutt), a one-page summary of her work as artist, teacher, administrator, lecturer and writer, other biographical material, and two letters. She was at one time Head of the Art Department at Northwestern University, Evanston, Illinois.
Collections include information about her donations to Vesterheim Museum and correspondence about her later years.
Her book, "Our Norwegian Ancestors and Their Siblings and Descendants," 1968, by Anna Hong Rutt, is in the St. Olaf Library. -
Ludwig Horntvedt papers, 1888

John Olai Jensen Hougen correspondence, 1814-1905
Letters written by Lutheran clergymen to Hougen about church affairs, including doctrinal differences.
