David T. Nelson clippings, 1969
Tributes to the memory of a professor at Luther College, Decorah, Iowa. After receiving a B.A. degree at Luther College, he studied as a Rhodes scholar at Oxford University in England. He wrote a history of Luther College for its 100th anniversary in 1961. He translated and edited Elizabeth Koren's Diary, published by NAHA in 1955. -

In this series of interviews by Odd Lovoll for his books “The Promise of America: History of the Norwegian-American People” and “The Promise Fulfilled: A Portrait of Norwegian Americans Today." Celeste Holm was an American stage, film and television actress. Holm won an Academy Award for her performance in Elia Kazan's Gentleman's Agreement, and was nominated for her roles in Come to the Stable and All About Eve Unprocessed This item is currently restricted. -
Deb Nelson Gourley papers, 1863-2005
Raised on the family 150-year-old Norwegian ancestral farm in Amherst, Near Canton, in southeastern Minnesota. Author of "Astri, My Astri: Norwegian Heritage Stories." Inspiration for Deb's stories are her Norwegian ancestors, who began emigrating as early as 1845 from various areas of Norway, including Hallingdal, Numedal, Telemark, Voss, Sognefjord, Valdres, and Selbu near Trondheim.
Includes tabloid sized colored pictures that illustrate her research on the 1862 Belmont (Jackson County, MN) Massacre [continuation of published work on the Hjørnevik family]; family pedigree chart; photocopies of letter (dated Dec. 18, 1863) by Ole Estenson Lonashaug describing the Belmot Massacre. -

Decorah Institute journals, 1888-1889
A journal published by a secondary school founded by John Breckenridge in 1874 in Decorah, Iowa. The school also offered teacher training and business courses. Also, a one-leaf "1888-9 fifteenth annual circular of the Decorah Institute and the fifth annual circular of the Decorah Business Institute." J. Breckenridge, principal; J.C. Della Kittleson Dokken Catuna papers, 1887-1989
Research material and working copies for Della Catuna's translation of "Colonel Heg and His Boys" by Waldemar Ager. Her translation of the Ager book was used, together with a translation by Clarence A. Clausen, for "Colonel Heg and His Boys," which NAHA published in 2000. Other family papers are also included.
Includes:- Copy of "The Battle of Stone's River," from the official report by Col. W. P. Carlin in "The War of the Rebellion" (1887, 1977).
- Volume of a copy of Catuna's manuscript "prepared in 1989 from a carbon copy… by Robert Kittelson for interim family use. Various 'additions' and 'corrections' by Robert Kittelson following research and additional information by Aunt Della."

- Correspondence between Catuna and Clarence A Clausen about the translation, editing and publication of Ager's book on the 15th Wisconsin (1977-1986). Also included are personal notes.
- "Life of Dordei, Mrs. Dora Kittleson," the story Catuna's mother. First written in 1929 "as an English assignment," rewritten after her mother's death in 1934 and published in the Blair, Wisconsin, newspaper.
