- Lundeberg was born at Kenyon, Minn., son of the Rev. Knut O. Lundeberg (see his papers). He received his medical degree from the University of Minnesota in 1925, also studied hygiene at the University of Paris and the London School of Tropical Medicine. In 1930 he joined the Army as a specialist in preventive medicine, working at Washington and San Antonio. During World War II he was chief of preventive medicine for American forces in India and Burma. After the war he was chief of medical affairs in the public welfare branch of the Office of the High Commission for Germany, until 1950 when he became director of the Army Experimental Health Branch before becoming health commissioner of Minneapolis, 1954 to 1964. Includes clippings, printouts from Army Medical Department publications, photograph, letters (1940-1980). 1947-64 personal records.
