Anders Beer Wilse article, undated
Article about Anders Beer Wilse, a photographer, who was born in Flekkefjord, Norway, and educated at Horten Technical College. He emigrated to the United States and worked first as an engineer. He established himself as a photographer in Seattle, but returned to Kristiania in 1900 where he opened his own studio. The article deals with his career in Norway. -
Anders Braatelien Pedersen papers, circa 1860-1900
Pedersen emigrated from Sigdal in 1870, settling first in St. Paul, Minnesota. In 1879 he moved to a site on the Great Northern Railroad in western Minnesota, becoming one of the first business men (and first post master) in the new village of Rothsay. He was county commissioner 1898-1910. He maintained a keen interest in his native country, and was one of the founders of the Sigdalslaget. In 1900 he published a novel, Mor Hansen (Rothsay, Minn.; Chicago, J. Anderson), 309 p. a copy is in the library collection: PT9150.P32M6 1900 NAI Vault: an English translation by Clara Serkland (wife of Grandson Alvin) is included here.

Anders J. Nervig photograph collection, 1898-1919
Photographs of friends and parishioners of Reverend Anders J. Nervig collected during his education and career. Nervig was a native of Norway and a graduate of Luther Theological Seminary in Robbinsdale, Minnesota. He served several congregations in Minnesota including Tracy, Balaton, and Wells, and Hartington, Nebraska. Upon his retirement in 1924, he moved to Minneapolis.
Anders (Andrew) Nervig married Mina Alette Hansen. Together they had five children: Julius Ragnvald, Camilla, Casper Bernhard, Leo Gerdinand, and Roland Angelo. -
Anders L. Mordt papers, 1910-1977
Copies of papers relating to the history of the Anders L. Mordt Land Company, Guymon, Oklahoma. Mordt was a promoter of Oslo, a Norwegian settlement in Hansford County, Texas (Texas Panhandle) in the early 1900s. He advertised extensively in the Norwegian-American newspapers, urging settlers to buy land from him, and hoped to build a city, Oslo, which would compare with the Norwegian capital. The city was never built, but the area was populated by Norwegian Farmers who came from the Midwest, and who organized the Oslo Lutheran Church at Gruver, Texas.

Anders N. Teslow diary, 1866-1908
An Account of the Life of Anders N. Teslow, A Diary, a translation of the diary of a Norwegian-born merchant and farmer, who came with his wife and family to Winneshiek County, Iowa, in 1862. In 1865 he moved to a farm in Freeborn County, Minnesota, where he lived the rest of his life. The diary begins with reminiscences of his life in Norway, his marriage, and the journey to America, and continues with the record of his experiences in Minnesota. Account translated by Dr. Gunnar Malmin, and edited by Anders Teslow's daughter and grandson, Valborg Teslow Fynboe (1976) The account was translated by Gunnar Malmin, and edited by Valborg Teslow Fyneboe and Carl Fyneboe. -
