Oddmund Ljone radio scripts, undated
22 typescript volumes Scripts for three series of programs given over Norwegian broadcasting under the cover title "Nybyggerne." The first two scenes involve seven episodes, the third has eight. Each episode approximates 30 pages. Three folders regarding series of Norwegian radio broadcasts on Norwegian emigrants. Episodes of trip to the Dakotas and getting settled. -
Midwestern Observer newspaper, 1934
Issues nos. 1, 3, and 4 of a monthly published and edited by Trondby Fenstad (Chicago), a second-generation Norwegian American. Only four or five issues of a journal claiming to be a voice of liberal opinion were published. -
Grotnes Machine Works article, 1973
An issue of "Inland" (1973, no. 1) containing an article "The Round World of Grotnes." Charles C. Grotnes, a Norwegian, founded the Grotnes Machine Works and developed metal forming techniques. The Grotnes Works became a subsidiary of Inland Steel Container Company in 1967. -
Nordic Arts Clubs papers, 1939-2016
Minutes, clippings, histories, sewing and cooking guides of two women's organizations in Northfield, Minnesota. The second club, organized in 1939, was dissolved in 1950. -
Norwegian-American Chamber of Commerce papers, 1915-1996
Assorted papers, membership lists, trade bulletins, and clippings of a corporation organized in New York City chiefly for the purpose of promoting business interests between Norway and the United States.
Includes clippings on New York banks, copy of Certificate of Incorporation and By-Laws (found in August Reymert Papers); membership lists for 1958, 1965-66, 1967-68, 1974-75, 1978-79. Trade bulletins for Oct. 1969 and Jan. 1998. The organization publishes "Norwegian American Commerce," a quarterly; financial records (1974-1993) of Women's Auxiliary, Upper Midwest Chapter. -

Copy of an article describing Congressman Volstead's interest in farmers' cooperatives and the 1922 Capper-Volstead Act and a collection of clippings (1902-1947).
"Andrew J. Volstead Made it All Possible," an unsigned essay regarding the Capper-Volstead Act, 1922. Includes clippings concerning the Norwegian-American politician who was the author of the legislation that enforced the anti-liquor 18th Amendment, 1919. Chicago Norwegian Technical Society papers, 1922-1927
Minutes, yearbook, membership lists, and correspondence of a technical society organized in Chicago in 1922. Similar societies were later organized: the Norwegian Engineering Society of New York in 1925 (later, Society of Norwegian American Engineers); and the Norwegian-American Technical Society in 1927. N.B.: The book by Dr. Kenneth Bjork, "Saga in Steel and Concrete" and the publication files of NAHA give a great deal of information about these technical societies.
