O. A. Kvisgaar essay, 1947
En Hyldest til Sangen og Musikkens Menn og Kvinner, written by a Norwegian immigrant who first heard a male chorus concert in Duluth in 1905. The essay is an appreciative account of the pleasure that has always been given him by music and musicians. -

Hans H. Haugen papers, 1910
A three-page letter from a 99-year-old retired farmer in North Dakota, covering details of his life, his interest in Telelag, and his friendship with N. N. Ronning. He was a recipient of the St. Olaf's medal in 1963. Also included are articles about him, including an account of an experience while prospecting for homestead land in British Columbia, 1910.

John M. Dybdahl papers, 1902-1960
Clippings, letters, and other records of a Chicago dentist and violinist, who emigrated from Trondheim with his parents in 1902. A graduate of the American Conservatory of Music, 1912, and of the Northwestern University Dental School, 1914, he started his dental practice in Moose Lake, Minnesota, but after a disastrous fire there he returned to Chicago where he practiced dentistry until his retirement in 1960. During all those years he was also active as a musician, taking part in numerous concerts and recitals.

Christopher (Ostrem) Evans diary, 1885-1918
Copy of the translated diary of a Winneshiek County, Iowa farmer who came from Vang, Valdres, Norway, in 1850. The translation was made by Carl T. Narvestad of Granite Falls, Minnesota, and biographical introduction was supplied by a great-grandson, Robert O. Evans. -

Sermon notes of a pastor, born in Arendal, Norway, who served congregations of the Norwegian-Danish Evangelical Free Church in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Muskegon, Michigan, Chicago, Illinois, and Jersey City, New Jersey, together with letters from his daugher giving biographical information. -
Norwegian Immigration Sesquicentennial papers, 1975
Papers of the Norwegian Immigration Sesquicentennial which was celebrated in Norway and in the United States in 1975, one hundred and fifty years after the landing of "Restaurationen" in New York with the first shipload of Norwegian immigrants, the "Sloopers." In the United States five regional commissions had been organized with headquarters in New York. The others were Chicago, Ottawa, Illinois, Minneapolis and Seattle. To facilitate planning between these groups there was a National Coordinating Committee, which also worked with the committees in Norway. Celebrations in the United States included a great variety of church, cultural, educational, entertainment and sports events, all of which were given extensive newspaper coverage. The climax of the festivities came with the visits to each of the regional centers by King Olav V of Norway, 2-29 October 1975. -
