Simund Olsen Simundson diary, 1890-1909
A Lutheran clergyman's daily account of journeys from Kenyon, Minnesota, to Kalispell, Montana, and from Kenyon to Ashland, Oregon (1908-1909). Includes: Writings on history of Goodhue Co., Congregations.
Includes two record books (1890-1900) Simundson kept when teaching summer "Norwegian school" at Ostrander, Cottonwood and Hanley Falls, Minnesota while a student at seminary; and later for confirmation classes while a pastor at Kenyon, Minn. Simundson was born in Hanley Falls, attended Red Wing Seminary, Willmar Seminary, St. Olaf College, Augsburg and United Church Seminaries, and was ordained 1896. Served churches at Kenyon 1896-1923; Hanska; then Holden and Dale congregations near Kenyon 1928-1941.
Several writings concerning Goodhue county congregations: Speech of P.M. Langemo at the "Jubelfest" held at Holden, Sept.12-16, 1906 translated by Julia Øredalen, 9 p. Manuscript. "Holden Church and Cemetery" (poem) by Mrs. Gertrude Hanson, Rochester, Minnesota; 1 p. typescript. Sivert A. Jacobson papers, 1907-1926
Correspondence, photograph, picture postal cards. Nothing is known about Jacobson but what can be inferred from the few letters and cards.
Includes:- Slip included gives addresses of relatives in Norway, including a brother (Petter Fugle) and a sister in Jolster.
- Card of 1907 is addressed to "Mr. Sivert Fugle, Ross Bro Lumberkamp no. 1)."
- Card of 1912 is addressed to Helgheim Jolster
- Cards 1914-20 are addressed to Thief River Falls, Minn., those of the 1920s to a Minneapolis address (one of 1924 was forwarded from a Milwaukee, Wis. Address). Apparently Jacobson served in World War I since a card of 1920 is from the Soldiers' Bonus Board and one of 1924 from the Adjusted Compensation Branch, Adjutant General's Office.
- Photo postal cards are of World War I battlefield scenes, a few of French, German and Norwegian places. The photographs are mostly unidentified.
- Photograph of U.S.S. Mobile, and a Norwegian ship. Christmas, Easter, Valentine cards.;
- Correspondents are Nels Burtness, E.R. Peterson (Alexandria, Minn., 1919, in uniform), Thea Erickson (Noonan, N.D.), Sallie Nessland (Minneapolis).

Sivert N. Hagen papers, 1872-1966
Articles, clippings, and correspondence of a Minnesota-born Luther College graduate and professor of English at the State University of Iowa, Vanderbilt University, Gettysburg College, and lastly Franklin and Marshall College, Lancaster, Pennsylvania, from which he retired in 1944. He was principal of Bruflat Academy, Portland, North Dakota, 1892-1893. -
