• Engel Revne Rood family history, 1987

  A compilation of photographs, pedigree charts, and family correspondences (1886-1934). Includes short biography of Engel Revne Rood (1865-1943), a native of Baldersheim, Norway, who left home at age 15. After four years of working on a freighter he saved enough money and settled in Leland, Illinois. Here he met and later married Ella Svenson in 1892. The couple moved to Oklahoma and later Bode, Iowa. Eleven children were born to them.

Casberg, a retired teacher of history who has done considerable research in the history of her own family. • Della Kittleson Dokken Catuna papers, 1887-1989

  Research material and working copies for Della Catuna's translation of "Colonel Heg and His Boys" by Waldemar Ager. Her translation of the Ager book was used, together with a translation by Clarence A. Clausen, for "Colonel Heg and His Boys," which NAHA published in 2000. Other family papers are also included.

• Seth D. Charney biography, 1966

  Biographical sketch of Minnesota-born Vilhelm Magnus (1871-1929) and his discoveries in the field of medicine.
  
  Charney was a student at Yale University School of Medicine. Vilhelm's father, Morten Henrik Magnus (1833-1905 )emigrated 1868 and was a pastor at Arendal, Minnesota 1869-75. He returned to Europe and taught at the Hamro Latin School 1883-1903.Vilh. received a medical degree from the Univ. of Christiania and practiced medicine in Christiania. He died 1929. According to Charney he published in 1901 a classic paper on the hormonal substance progesterone.

  Christenson translated two books on Hallvard Graatopp (1400-1438?) which are in the library collection: Stian Henneseid, Hallvard Graatopp and the bonde revolt of 1438 (DK495.H35K5713), Birger Kireby, Hallvard Graatoppfrom the Lindheim skipreide (DL495.H35K5713). According to Christenson, Borgersen is not a university trained historian and his presentation is much more fanciful than those of the professional historians, being a fascinating complement to their work.; Santa Barbara, 1997. iii, 28 p., 1 chart (Den historiske sleksstavelen from til Halvard Graatopp"), 4 p.   In this series of interviews by Odd Lovoll for his books “The Promise of America: History of the Norwegian-American People” and“The Promise Fulfilled: A Portrait of Norwegian Americans Today,” Lovoll interviews Peter C. Christianson regarding being a Norwegian-American. Christianson was a lobbyist and lawyer in Madison and Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He was a partner at the law firm Quarles & Brady.

  The Norse-American Adventure. Copy of a 419 page typescript compiled by the author who described himself as a traveler and lecturer. His stated purpose is " to bring to the front the accomplishments of our leading personalities in the many and various fields of endeavors." A two page index at the beginning notes the fields he has covered. The information includes many well-known as well as lesser-known personages, but is rather general.
