Christopher (Ostrem) Evans diary, 1885-1918
Copy of the translated diary of a Winneshiek County, Iowa farmer who came from Vang, Valdres, Norway, in 1850. The translation was made by Carl T. Narvestad of Granite Falls, Minnesota, and biographical introduction was supplied by a great-grandson, Robert O. Evans. -

Celeste Holm was an American stage, film and television actress. Civil War papers, 1861-2004
Articles, clippings, certificates, Confederate money, correspondence, pamphlets, maps, pictures, and rosters about Norwegians who participated in the Civil War. Derwood Johnson contributed information about nearly 100 Norweigan-Americans who served on the Confederate side, with copies of muster rolls from the National Archives and Texas State Archives. Wally Toensing contributed a list (31 pages) of over 800 who served in the Minnesota units. Five folders about the 15th Wisconsin Regiment, four folders of rosters and profiles of soldiers of that regiment, two folders of profiles of Norwegians who served in other units. There are folders of letters and documents concerning more than a dozen individual veterans. -
Claire Selkurt papers, 1848-2000
A graduate of St. Olaf College, Selkurt got her M.A. in the Design department of the University of Minnesota, with thesis on the architecture and applied arts of the early settlement period (1839-1950) of early Norwegian settlers of Luther Valley settlement, Rock County, Wisconsin. In 1979 she received the Ph.D. in art history at the University. She has taught at Mankato State University and the College of Liberal Arts, St. Paul. Her article, "The domestic architecture and cabinetry of Luther Valley" was published in Norwegian-American Studies, v. 30, pp. 247-272 (1985). The larger part of the collection consists of materials Selkurt collected in the course of her research on Luther Valley: notes on reading, photocopies of articles, photographs of buildings, bibliographic notes, papers she wrote for classes (including "Wood and stone: the frontier heritage," American architecture, 1972, 20 p. and 30 p. illus.), correspondence, etc.

Clara Jacobson papers, 1943
Childhood Memories (42 p. typescript) of reminiscences of childhood days spent in the Perry parsonage, western Dane County, Wisconsin, by a daughter of Abraham Jacobson, Lutheran parish pastor from 1868 to 1878. Written in informal style, Childhood Memories gives a glowing, detailed account of church, school, books, music, dress, entertainment, trips, playmates, guests, parsonage, garden and household and farm employees. There is special mention made of Olaus Jensen Breda, Ole Bull, Aanund B. Dahle, John N. Fjeld, Gulbrand Jensvold, Monona Academy, and the devastating tornado of 1878. Also includes a scrapbook of clippings of her writings from Decorah-Posten and Reform. Also, letters from H.H. Einung, 1928 - 1931 (Rjukan). Clara Jacobson was a teacher and author.
