Carsten Johnson biography, 1988
"Dr. Johnson's Images," a biographical sketch of a dentist who took up painting as a hobby, was written in connection with an exhibit at Mount Pleasant Public Library, Pleasantville, New York. -
Bertha O.F. Johnson letters, 1874-1888
Letters to Bertha Fjeld from her mother, Oline Fjeld of Fåberg, Norway, after Bertha's emigration to Blair, Wisconsin, and a few from a sister. Many are from Karl Emil, her future husband, written from various towns where he worked as a railroad station agent. Karl Emil was also known as Charles E. Johnson. A final letter to him is addressed Zumbrota, Minnesota. Folder 1: Letters from Norway (1874-1886). Folder 2: Letters from Karl Emil (1875-1877). Folder 3: Miscellaneous letters. Includes vaccination certificate (1855). -
Christian O. Ruste papers, 1887-1928
Business records of Ruste's enterprises: Rippling Rill Farm and Creamery and Barber Cheese Company. Ruste was born at Mr. Horeb to Ole Arneson Ruste and his wife Anne, who were early settlers and founders of Perry Lutheran Church. In 1887 h emarried Betsey Anderson of Blue Mounds and they settled on the homestead which he later called Rippling Rill Farm, living there until 3 years before his death. "One of his first acts after he started farming for himself was to purchase a purebred Holstein herd sire and develop a herd of dairy cattle that for years has ranked among the foremost in the dairy history of Southern Wisconsin." He helped "develop his neighborhood into one of the leading dairy centers of the world." He wrote for local papers and farm journals, and wrote "Sixty Years of Perry Congregation" in 1915. Ruste is related to "Snowshoe Thompson."

Jacobsen family letters, 1923-1940
Original letters from siblings Jenny and Asbjorn Jacobsen. Includes the book: "Brev Fra Brooklyn, 1923-1940" by Kirsten Limstrand: A group of four siblings emigrated from Salten in Nordland to America in the period 1923-1927. The book is based on many hundreds of letters to and from the siblings. The book is a family story, but at the same time gives a picture of how life and business behaved for most people in Brooklyn at this time. -

Various correspondence to Signe M. Marton of Bloomington, Illinois. Much of the correspondence is with family in Norway.
Clausen emigrated from Norway in1923, and settled in Illinois. Her brother, Morton, served as Editor andPublisher for the Hamilton Press in Hamilton, Illinois. In 1971, Clausenvisited Norway (transcribed letters included) for the first time in 48 years.Scanned photographs saved to CD and printed.
