Web Archiving
The NAHA archive’s traditional functions of acquiring, cataloging, and preserving materials of historical importance related to the Norwegian diaspora extend to digital materials, including websites. NAHA uses web archiving to acquire and make permanently available accessible, born-digital works that are playing an increasingly important role in the intellectual, commercial, and creative life of Norwegians in North America.
The Web Archives is available through the web archiving service, Archive-It.org, an affiliate of the Internet Archive. NAHA will use Archive-It’s web crawler to search through chosen websites and capture images of articles, photos, or entire websites pertinent to a collection.
