Ralph Enger papers, 1947-1949
Papers of the founder and editor of "The Pacific Coast Scandinavian", consisting of correspondence and a history of the Norwegian Club of San Francisco, 1898 - 1946. The history (1947, 88 p. + 17 plates) deals largely with the social life of the Club, including the entertainment of such guests as Roald Amundsen, whose ship, Gjøa, the Club bought and gave to the city. A sketch of Andrew Furuseth; a list of officers, 1906 - 1946; an account of the voyage of the ship Gjøa; and the consitution and by-laws are also includes. Photographs of founder members; past presidents; "old-timers"; current members, also included. The correspondence deals with the work of Gjøa Foundation, founded in 1939, "for the preservation and upkeep of Roald Amundsen's Gjøa, famed for making the Northwest Passage 1903 - 1905." Includes a reprint of an article on the "Gjøa" by Erik Krag, which first appeared in the 'Pacific Marine Review', April 1949.

Papers of a daughter of Pastor N.E. Bøe, consisting of correspondence, articles, pamphlets, and clippings. Includes:
- Biography of N.E. Bøe, "Days That Are Gone: The Story of Father's Life," by A. Sophie Bøe (4 copies/1 photocopied, in file). Nils E Bøe, born in 1846 at Valestrand, Norway, emigrated from Norway in 1851 to Koshkonong, Dane County, Wisconsin. Biography touches upon many topics, including: farm work, Forth of July (Independence Day celebrations), swimming hole, ice skating, Christmas, education/school days, passenger pigeons, religion, Albion Academy, Civil War (enlisted as Nils Anderson in the 40th Wis. Reg., Co. Town of York (Green County, Wisconsin) School records, 1891-1939
Papers of School District No. 3 in Town of York, consisting of petitions, warranty deed papers (1918), district survey (1919), teacher's contract (1919), teachers' reports (1898-1916), school census reports and annual reports (1912 - 1939), and financial records. Also includes: papers from teachers' retirement fund, photo of the school and students (1895), school insurance papers (1916). Ninety-eight per cent of the residents of the district were of Norwegian background. -
Lyder L. Unstad papers, 1928-1937
Papers of a Norwegian-born college teacher and press correspondent who was a member of faculties at Capital University and Franklin University, Columbus, Ohio, and Alma College, Alma, Michigan. The scrapbooks (1928-1944) contain clippings from several Norwegian-American newspapers pertaining to such subjects as current literature, the Norwegian language controversy, technocracy, Marxism, Thorstein Veblen, and Marcus Thrane. The unpublished manuscript "A Survey of the Industrial and Economic Development in Central Ohio with Special Reference to Columbus in 1797 - 1872" is Unstad's PH.D. dissertation, accepted at Ohio State University in 1937. Transferred from the C.G.O. Hansen clipping collection: 5 clippings (1930 - 1937) sent "via Hansen" with 4 p. typed 'vita' and photograph. Also, an article by Unstad, "I Filmore County, Minnesota, finnes et beundringsverdig kulturcentrum" published in Nordisk Tidende, February 3rd, 1938. -

Account books (1880 July 14-1928 September 10) and legal papers (1886 June 22-1901 September 23) of a Norwegian-born realtor, insurance agent, and farmer at Canton, South Dakota. Also Includes warranty deeds for several properties, mortgage papers, patent papers, a cemetery deed (1893), abstract of title papers (1895), membership certificate to the Norwegian Lutheran Deaconess Society (1897). -
Slooper Society of America papers, 1840-1961
Papers of a society formed in 1825, whose members are descendants of those Norwegians who emigrated in 1825 on the sloop "Restaurationen", consisting of articles, correspondence, clippings, pictures, programs, and reports. The papers include Olaf M. Norlie's letters to Joseph M. Johnson, president of the Society from 1929 to 1949, regarding the Lars Larson house in Rochestor, New York, considered the first house built by Norwegians in the United States a thesis presented to the faculty of Wagner College, entitled "The Descendants of Lars Larson, 'Slooper', in the New World" by Dorrrit Weill (1955). Ragnvald Leland papers and scrapbooks, 1891-1929
Clippings largely from the Norwegian-American press regarding such subjects as Det Norske Selskab, New Norwegian Literature. Contributors include O.A. Buslett, Juul Dieserud, P.P. Iverslie, M. Falk Gjertsen, Mabel Johnson Leland, Ragnvald Leland, Per Sivle, Peer O. Strømme, and Henrik Voldal. Leland, Norwegian-Born, practiced medicine in Kenyon, Minnesota, for forty years.
